Workshop for Teachers

RECYCLE, RHYTHM AND RHYME

Chackchas, guiros, rain sticks, zampoñas, Indian drum and water books can be made out of recycled materials. Georgette Baker teaches how the making of the instruments can be incorporated into a lesson plan. Mathematics, geography, history and the sounds and cultures of Spanish speaking countries are enhanced when children have the opportunity to create, touch, see and hear. Most workshop materials are provided as well as cassettes with the music taught in the workshop. Workshops are 1 ½ to 21/2 hours long and start at $500. 909-393-8372 or toll free at 800-393-1336

Children will have the opportunity to touch unusual artifacts, play chackchas, rain sticks and guiros as they sing along to Georgette’s entertaining renditions of songs from Spanish speaking countries. All assemblies will be 45 minutes and include 3 hands on tables
